Belfagor Måste Tala Om... Monstraat - The One Eternal (EP)

Här har vi ett band som förstår sig på känslan i Black/Death Metal! När sångaren skriker "Praise the Lord" i The One Eternal så tar man hans ord på allvar att han kommenderar lyssnaren att prisa Herren och att han själv prisar Herren. När man lyssnar på musiken förstår man direkt vilken Herre det talas om. Nästa titel, Unchained, förklarar att det är Herren Satan det talas om. Produktionen är oklanderlig i sin old school-anda. Man märker att bandet är influerade av band som Malign, vilket ju inte är fy skam när det kommer till dödens metall eller svartmetall. Att de slängt in lite D-takter á la kängpunk gör att det blir en bra blandning av aggressioner och skönhet (i dödens tecken). Tredje låten, Voidlike Sky, börjar med en gitarr som spelar öppningsriffet vilket gör att effekten blir stark när resten av instrumenten kommer in efter ett tag. Sångaren sjunger ljust och aningen hest, om man ska uttrycka sig så. Hängivet låter det i varje fall. Det låter som att allt är inspelat live i studion, utan klipp och annat modernt strunt vilket ökar trovärdigheten i bandets musikalitet. Det är simpelt, det är primitivt, det är smutsigt och allt detta med flit. Sista låten, Dead Eyes See, börjar som två lavetter rakt på öronen. Perfekt avslutningslåt. Man hör att medlemmarna kan sin Darkthrone och sin Burzum. Det är ett malande på ett meditativt riff länge, länge, med en djävulsk röst som kryddar musiken. Texterna handlar om död och diabolism, som sig bör. Detta är ett band ni bör hålla öronen öppna för.

Here we have a band that understands the feeling in Black/Death Metal! When the singer screams "Praise the Lord!" in The One Eternal, you take his words as true, as if he commands the listener to praise the Lord and does it himself as well. When listening to the music it´s obvious which Lord is meant. The next title, Unchained, explains that it is Lord Satan that is spoken of. The production is flawless in its old school spirit. You notice that the band is influenced by bands like Malign, which is never a bad thing when it comes to the metal of death or black metal. The influences from the more extreme side of punk music makes a good mix with aggressions and beauty (in the sign of death). The third track, Voidlike Sky, begins with a guitar that plays the opening riff alone which makes the impact so much the greater when the rest of the instruments come in. The vocalist sings with a bright pitch and sounds a bit hoarse. It has dedication is what's the point here! It sounds like everything is recorded live in the studio, without cutting or other modern bullshit which makes the musicality of the band reach an even higher credibility. It is simple, it is primitive, it is dirty and all this with intent. The final song, Dead Eyes See, starts like two slaps straight on the ears. Perfect as closure for the release. You can hear that the members know their early Darkthrone and Burzum. The riff goes on and on with an infernal voice to spice it up. The lyrics are all about death and diabolism, like they should. This is a band you should keep your ears open to.
